Interest Issues
As interest rates rise, you may notice that loans with lower rates may be available from a credit union. Since credit unions are non-profit entities composed of a partnership of its members, they are often able to offer lower rates. Sounds good, right?
But wait- a partnership? What if there are other Jewish members of this credit union? Does that mortgage or car loan now run into the prohibition of borrowing with interest from a fellow Jew?
